what we saw from the cheap seats

Oh Regina!
I made a wise purchase on the weekend. One I shall never regret. The newest album of the one and only Regina Spektor, What We Saw from the Cheap Seats. I have fallen in love with her all over again. Glory! If I could trade my vocal chords for any others I would choose hers.
Track Five is my favourite for the following reasons:
A. The oui bit of French featured (pun intended).
B. The cleverly crafted melody.
C. The terrific use of trumpets. I love trumpets.

ne me quitte pas, don't leave me

It is almost time. Days are growing shorter and moments are passing at great speed. How I wish I could fold you up and keep you in my pocket. In fact I would be content even to sit inside your pocket and feel your warmth until I'm ready to let go. You are too wonderful and life is near perfect when you are fitted in the frame beside me.

If you really must go, please come back.

for the love of laughter

I love hiccups. They bring me so much joy. One day I sat alone in a train carriage full of strangers and suppressed an embarassed giggle at every hiccup that sounded from my tired body. A kind soul offered me water, which I declined on account of my attempt to scare my hiccups away with aqua was unsuccessful. For fifty minutes I hicced and I upped and I tried not to disturb the blue collar brogues and the high class heels that surrounded me, though I was secretly amused.
I have come to realise that my hiccups are never timely. Just the other day, in the middle of a recording project my hiccups returned. In the safety of my own abode and by the side of my one and only I was able to let laughter roar. It was contagious. It was blissful and it was happy. I wish I had captured the episode on film or even caught the simple sound of the two of us laughing until our tummys ached. I love a good belly giggle, the really truly hearty kind that goes on and on.
I love hiccups.

thursday thoughts

Wouldn't it be wonderful to wander without shoes for days on end. To hum tunes to a certain lost soul.
Wouldn't it be a treat to travel the world. To find something missing and bring him home again..

i'll be so good to you

Deep is my love for wandering thoughts of white dresses and happy days. One may think it peculiar that a nineteen year old art student would be so infatuated with such thoughts and perhaps it is a peculiar thing, alas nothing thrills me more. The beloved St. Vincent, whom might feel the way I do, sings sweetly to me as I peruse a selection of Etsy treasures and make beautiful things happen inside of my mind...

P.S. I may or may not already have a dress tucked away in my closet, waiting patiently to be worn.

olive you

Etsy is my one and only vice these days, that and thoughts of being married and a mother. These items tickled my fancy this evening as I waited for my cake to bake. I love olive. I love the way colours are described on Etsy. A dear friend and I often marvel at this coding of colours. The best yet, as voted by us is 'soft cocoa'. Now ain't that a dandy way of tellin' the colour of a fine frock!
When I'm married I will cook hearty meals for my husband in vintage crockery and fit my head with beautiful hats when we picnic on sunny afternoons. I will wear pretty things and use a feather duster.

the apple of my eye

I found a treasure at Vinnies today. A real treasure! Perhaps the very beginning of my kitchen collection. In all my excitement I made an apple and cinnamon cake. I ate a wee piece for my dinner and it was lovely. I can't wait for a husband and babies and a kitchen and days to bake and stories to write. Oh glory!

to mexico we go

On the eve of Mumma's Graduation we went to Mexico. Not really. We went to the humble and oh so spacious abode of brother Zac and dearest Jena. Tacos tingled my taste buds and laughter echoed all around and I realised how very much I adore all those that were in my presence. To think what I would do without a family is a horrible, no good, very bad thought.

Make-shift stools. We're creative crittes.

Just quietly Mathias Oskar, I think this is the most beautiful picture.
You look perfect. You look happy.

I do not recall a single family gathering where there hasn't been pant-wetting laughter.
Not one. We're funny folk.
